Asia-Pacific meeting on COVID-19 tax responses

Nearly 100 participants from 29 jurisdictions, including 14 CATA member countries, joined an online meeting to discuss tax policies and measures that governments in the Asia-Pacific region could implement as part of their response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event, which was jointly organised by CATA, the OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development), PITAA (Pacific Island Tax Administrators Association) and ADB (Asian Development Bank), took place on 14th May 2020.

The meeting provided an opportunity for tax administrations and ministries of finance from Asian and Pacific countries to share knowledge and experiences on their response to the coronavirus outbreak. The meeting was also attended by representatives of several international organisations with presentations given by the ODI (Overseas Development Institute), IFS (Institute for Fiscal Studies), CTPA (Centre for Tax Policy and Administration), the Forum of Tax Administration, and ADB.
