In line with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM’s) initiatives in digitalising its tax administration and providing best services to all its clients, including its retirees, the IRBM has developed a portal for IRBM retirees via the Human Resource Management System which was officially launched in November 2021.

The portal contains a database with current information and profiles of the retirees as well as information while they were still in service. The portal also contains details of their dependents. Information that may subject to change, such as the retiree’s personal information, residential address and contact details can be updated on the portal.

The main objective of the portal is to provide a medium to connect the IRBM retirees with the organisation. This portal not only acts as an information hub for the retirees to obtain latest information and updates on facilities and benefits available for them such as the lists of current panel hospitals, clinics and hotels, it also allows them to make claims online without having to go to IRBM to manage their medical claim. Retirees can conveniently fill in the claim information on the medical claim screen and upload the digital copy of the medical receipt and proof of treatment for approval. The medical claim records of the submitted application and payment status are also available on the portal.

Through the portal, retirees can also apply for a new or a replacement of a ‘Retiree Card’. The ‘Retiree Card’ is an official identification document of a retiree issued by IRBM, aimed at enabling its retirees to obtain relevant facilities after leaving service. The card serves as instant identification where retirees can continue to enjoy the facilities without the need for further verification.

IRBM has its own alumni; the Association of Inland Revenue Alumni (AIRA). The Retiree Portal plays an important role where the information of retiring officers can be obtained by AIRA which will be very useful in their efforts to invite them to join AIRA fraternity. Apart from its aim to maintain kinship among former IRBM officers, it was also established to encourage its members to continue their involvement in the circle of taxation.

The portal also facilitates IRBM to study the needs of retirees and also plan for other additional facilities and benefits which deemed competitive and necessary in the future.
