The IRBM received a study visit from Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) from 26 to 30 January 2023. A total of five delegates headed by Mr Swalehe Byarugaba, Deputy Commissioner Operations, TRA were present during the visit which was held in the Headquarters of IRBM in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. Dr Esther A.P. Koisin, Director of the Department of International Taxation IRBM, welcomed the TRA delegation on behalf of the CEO. The delegates were given an overview of the organisational structure of IRBM and the tax system of Malaysia on the first day of the visit.

The delegation of Tanzania was in Malaysia to learn from IRBM’s experience in taxation of Islamic Finance and the framework that IRBM put in place.

Sharing of experience were provided by IRBM senior officers from the Specialised Industry and Tax Policy Department.
